CASA Volunteers put great love into everything they do

What Does a CASA Volunteer do?

The CASA Volunteer journey begins with the application process. Some basic requirements include being at least 21 years of age, the ability to pass a criminal background check, and the availability for at least a one to two year commitment, as that’s the length of the average CASA case.

After 30-35 hours of training is completed, our new volunteers are sworn into the court by Judge X. And when they’re ready, volunteers will receive their first case assignment!

The case will begin with relationship building with the child(ren), and also research and interviews with other important people in the child’s life. In the beginning of the case, volunteers can expect to spend ten hours a month on their responsibilities. After some initial responsibilities are performed, volunteers can expect to spend closer to five hours per month on a case.
